A Free Community Celebration of Youth Creativity, Collaboration & Talent
Newark, NJ —(July 25, 2025) Newark School of the Arts proudly invites families, neighbors, and supporters of the arts to the 2025 Summer Spectacular — a joyful culmination of our students’ summer camp experience! Join us on Friday, August 8, 2025, from 3:00pm to 7:00pm at Newark School of the Arts, 89 Lincoln Park, for an unforgettable afternoon of creativity, community, and youth empowerment.
This dynamic celebration is the result of a powerful summer partnership between Newark School of the Arts, ACCA Creates, and Mighty Writers—three organizations dedicated to transforming the lives of young people through the arts, literacy, and cultural enrichment.

The Summer Spectacular will feature original student performances, powerful theatrical scenes, and visual art exhibitions reflecting a summer of imagination and growth.
About Our Partners:
ACCA Creates (Arts Culture Community Activations) is an arts-driven community organization using creativity to foster self-discovery, healing, and civic connection. ACCA specializes in multidisciplinary arts education and youth-centered cultural programming.
“Our collaboration with NSA and Mighty Writers brings out the best in our youth and our city,” said Dr. Marcia Heard, Founder of ACCA Creates. “Art has the power to unite, uplift, and transform—and you’ll see all of that on full display at this year’s Summer Spectacular.”
Mighty Writers is a national nonprofit that teaches youth to think clearly and write with clarity. Through workshops, mentoring, and project-based learning, Mighty Writers helps young people tap into their voice and tell their story.
“This summer has been a celebration of expression,” said Regine Jean-Louis, Mighty Writers Newark, Literacy Manager at Mighty Writers Newark. “The young people in our program have written, shared, and performed their truth with courage and creativity. The Summer Spectacular is their stage—and they are ready to shine.”
Newark School of the Arts is proud to serve as the hub for this celebration of student growth and community partnership.

Ivy Hill Vailsburg Center for Arts Culture and Community Activism dba ACCA Creates ~ is a 501c3 nonprofit arts and culture education organization whose mission is to promote, create, and disseminate arts and culture education, community development, and participation in cultural, economic, and civic life through arts and cultural education programs of distinction. Since launching in Newark, Mighty Writers has become a critical partner in delivering literacy-based programming that builds confidence, communication skills, and creativity in youth. This summer, Mighty Writers has worked alongside NSA and ACCA to help students find and express their voices through original writing, storytelling, and performance.
NEWARK SCHOOL OF THE ARTS ~ Newark School of the Arts (NSA) transforms the lives of youth through access to high-quality education in the performing and visual arts. Since its founding in 1968, NSA has been committed to providing excellent sequential arts education and training in an emerging state-of-the-art learning environment. The school accepts students of all ages and abilities and partners with other successful arts educators to maintain affordability and accessibility. NSA has served over 50,000 individuals since its inception and currently educates over 1,300 students on and off-site programs each week. Programs include specialized instruction on all musical instruments, voice, music, dance, drama, and visual arts. Special programs cater to talented students, preschool-aged children, individuals with special needs, and senior citizens.
