HALF DAY PROGRAMS

DANCE

Dance Unlimited

Mondays 5:30 to 6:30 pm 

Ages 8 and up

Foundation of all dance forms with an emphasis in rhythm, including body placement flexibility, balance, and strength are achieved through center floor work and technique. Basic rhythmic movements of tap will be taught using age appropriate movements and music as well as elements of Hip-Hop.

Hip-Hop 1

Tuesdays 5:30 to 6:30 pm 

All Ages

In this fun and high-energy class, students learn combinations to their favorite pop songs. Music is always kid friendly and appropriate. Class focus is on development of skills, self-confidence and personal style.


TECHNOLOGY

Coding from Scratch

Tuesdays 5:30 to 6:30 pm 

Ages 8 and Up(10 Max)

Taught by VIS+COM+CODE

Students will learn basic coding techniques through interactive and exciting projects. The students will use “Scratch™" to create computational artifacts like games, animations, music composition and other applications using ideas from their lives and interests. The goal of this class is to increase fluency with computational thinking and programming concepts

Graphic Design BASICS

Ages 12+  (10 Max)

MUSIC

Guitar Class

Tuesdays 5:30 PM

Basic guitar instruction, music fundamentals and a brief overview of guitar HIstory will be taught over the 4 week period.  Students must bring their own guitar. All other learning materials will be provdoded by the school.

BUCKET DRUMS

Wednesdays 5:30 to 6:30 pm 

Ages 8 to 13 (15 students max)

This dynamic drumming class takes the entire concept of drumming outside of the box! Rhythm is in everything we do in our everyday lives from the tempo of our walk to how fast we read or speak.  In this class students will learn basic rhythms, work on individual parts and collaborate with their peers to build an ensemble piece.  The most fun part is the instruments themselves: Drumsticks, buckets, lids, metal trashcans and more!

Music Producers

Tuesdays 5:30 to 6:30 pm 

(Ages 10+)

In this class, students become music producers as they compose original tracks using professional, but easy to use, computer software and technology. No prior knowledge of music theory required, students will have fun learning the basics or making use of the skills they’ve developed in other classes. Students will explore their creativity as they layer beats, rhythms, and melodies with loops, sequencers, and synthesized sounds. There are so many instruments and effects that students can choose from, genres they can work in, and methods for orchestrating their songs, that every composition comes out unique.


VISUAL ARTS

Young Painters

Ages 5 to 12 (12 Max ) 

Wednesdays 5:30 to 6:30 pm

Students will use a variety of materials, and learn techniques for applying different styles and art materials for their paintings and drawings.  Projects will include rigorous exercises using mixed media, printmaking, drawing and painting to further hone artistic skills. Students will explore subject matter such as, animals, still life, buildings, and portraits in this 17-week course.  The instructor will cite historical and stylistic periods to encourage students to develop visual acuity and art terminology. 

Comic and Manga Drawing Technique

AGES 8 AND UP (12 Max) 

Thursdays 5:15 to 6:15pm

Students will be able to master perceptional drawing and be able to render light and shadow with the use of a variety of mediums, including pencil, charcoal and ink. While the skills they learn will be fundamental for the Anime, Manga and Comic market, they can also be used for the 2D and 3D animation field as well as fine arts.
