For the 4th year, the Newark School of
the Arts (NSA) is providing an exclusive
arts program for Newark Public and Private
School students.
NSA receives funds from a Community
Development Block Grant (CDBG) from the City
of Newark as well as other sources to
provide discounted rates for first-time
students with an interest in the arts to
enroll in private lessons in music, or group
lessons in drama, dance and visual arts.
School principals, administrators and/or
classroom teachers are encouraged to
identify students who love the arts to apply
for the I.C.A.N. Program. Students must
commit to a 17-week semester.
Parents/Guardians are required to complete
the application form, obtain school
signature from principal, teacher or
administrator and provide proof of income
(2010 W-2 Form) at registration.
The I.C.A.N Program provides a 60%
discount off of regular rates for one
semester for:
- Private lessons in music, including
theory class at no additional charge at
$12.80 per week for 17 weeks.
- Group lessons in visual arts, dance
and drama at $6.00 per week for 17
weeks.
