Curriculum
The Dance Department offers classes in Ballet, Hip Hop, Modern, Jazz at all levels. Courses range from one class per week to a full professional training.

Dance Master Classes

The Newark School of the Arts Master Dance Class Series is designed for the dance student looking to hone their skills as a dancer.  The series encourages students to grow both technically and artistically in the following dance genres: Modern, Jazz, Ballet and Hip-Hop
Children (Ages 4 to 7)
Basic introduction to elementary dance forms designed to prepare the young student for Tap and Ballet (see Young at Arts for prices).
(Ages 8 to Adult)
Ballet, Modern, Tap, Jazz, Hip-Hop at all levels.  All classes are held once a week in duration of 1 to 1 ½ hours.
Adult Dance Social
The Adult Dance Social is a class for adult who are looking for a combination of fun and exercise to Salsa and Line dancing beats!  Adults will have an opportunity to socialize and make new friends, while learning Line and Salsa dancing by a professional dance instructor.

Performance Opportunities
Each year students are given opportunities to perform in NSA's Open House productions, the Annual Spring Concert as well as other performances.

Intermediate and advanced students are given performance opportunities through workshops in ballet and jazz. New works are created for workshop students by faculty choreographers. Workshop groups perform frequently during the year, gaining valuable stage experience.
